Got unwanted furniture stacked away in your garage? Looking to donate building materials you no longer need? Upgraded your washing machine but the old one is still too good to trash? Habitat for Humanity ReStore can take all that off your hands and more!

With multiple ways to donate, Habitat ReStore is the best place to donate used furniture, appliances, home décor, building materials, and more. Whether you drop off your donation or have it picked up right from your home, you know your sofa won’t be adding to our growing landfills. Your donation will be resold at one of our three ReStore locations and the proceeds will fund the construction of affordable homes right here in the Bay Area. That’s a win for you, a win for the planet, and a win for our community!

What can I donate to ReStore?

Since all donations are resold to fund Habitat for Humanity homes, ReStore aims to curate quality inventory for our shoppers. That means we can only accept gently used or new items that meet our donation criteria. All items must be fully intact in good working condition, and we can’t accept anything damaged, rusted, or missing parts. See details on donations ReStore can accept below!

ReStore Staff Stocking Donations
Donate Furniture

Sofas, end tables, desks, dining sets, coffee tables, bedframes, dressers, shelves, armchairs, patio furniture, folding tables, or office furniture that’s also appropriate for home use

Donate Appliances

Refrigerators, dishwashers, washers, dryers, ranges, microwaves, fans, water heaters, air conditioners, air purifiers, fire pits, or grills, all clean and less than 7 years old

Donate Building Materials & Tools

Doors, windows, plumbing, fixtures, new flooring & tile, hand or power tools, new lumber, solar panels, or new & unopened nails, screws, etc.

Donate Cabinets

Kitchen cabinet sets, bathroom vanities, medicine cabinets, pantry cabinets, or garage storage, all with doors & drawers attached

Donate Home Décor

Artwork, seasonal decorations, artificial plants, clean throw pillows, hardcover books, framed mirrors, knick-knacks, vases, ceramics, or glassware

Donate Lighting

Floor lamps, pendant lights, chandeliers, vanity lights, table lamps, exterior lights, new ceiling fans, sconces, or LED light fixtures, all complete with mounting brackets

ReStore cannot accept donations of mattresses, paint, or clothing, however, those items are accepted for recycling at ReStore Oakland!

How can I donate to ReStore?

ReStore offers three easy and convenient ways to donate! Whether you’re looking drop off a donation today, or schedule a furniture donation pickup service, ReStore makes donating a breeze!

1. Drop off your donation at your local ReStore

Donation drop offs are quick and easy with no appointment necessary! Just pack up your donation and visit one of our three Bay Area locations listed below during donation hours. Look for the “Donation Drop Off” sign to hand over your donation to a ReStore staff member or volunteer. Don’t forget your receipt — your donation to ReStore is tax-deductible!

Got a donation that’s too big to fit in your trunk? ReStore will pick it up right from your home! Standard Donation Pickups are available in Alameda, Santa Clara, or Contra Costa counties for a $40 flat fee to help offset fuel and labor costs. Here’s a few quick facts to know about our Standard Donation Pickup service:

  • Typically a 3 – 7 day waiting period for pickups
  • Donation must be in a garage, driveway, parking space, or curbside for pickup
  • Donation must meet ReStore’s Donation Criteria
3. Schedule a Priority Donation Pickup with ReSupply

What if you need help moving a heavy dresser down a flight of stairs? Or, you’ve got a bunk bed that needs to be disassembled and picked up ASAP? That’s where ReSupply Priority Pickups come in! ReStore has teamed up with our friends at ReSupply to expand our donation pickup service and make donating easier than ever with:

  • Pickups from inside your home from any floor
  • Disassembly services
  • ALL items in ANY condition accepted
  • Faster & more flexible scheduling options
