ABOUT - Habitat for Humanity ReStore

what is a ReStore?

Habitat for Humanity ReStores are nonprofit home improvement stores and donation centers that sell new and gently used furniture, home accessories, building materials, and appliances to the public. The first Habitat for Humanity ReStore opened in Austin, Texas, in 1992 as a means to sell donated building material that went unused at Habitat for Humanity construction sites. Since then, Habitat affiliates have opened more than 1,200 ReStores across the U.S. and Canada.

why choose ReStore?

Every new, nearly-new, and used item sold at ReStore is sold at a fraction of the retail price, and proceeds from all sales at ReStore fund Habitat for Humanity’s work to create more housing opportunity in the Bay Area through building, preservation, and education. With your help, Habitat build homes, communities, and hope locally and around the world. Additionally, when an item is donated to ReStore and purchased by a customer, it is diverted from a landfill. In 2020, ReStore diverted over 5,000 tons of waste from landfills.
