what is a ReStore?
Habitat for Humanity ReStores are nonprofit home improvement stores and donation centers that sell new and gently used furniture, home accessories, building materials, and appliances to the public. The first Habitat for Humanity ReStore opened in Austin, Texas, in 1992 as a means to sell donated building material that went unused at Habitat for Humanity construction sites. Since then, Habitat affiliates have opened more than 1,200 ReStores across the U.S. and Canada.
