ReStore Donation Pick Up Trucks

When you’re moving, you have a thousand things to keep track of. Buying bubble wrap, getting utilities turned on or off, hiring movers, or bribing friends and family to help out. When you’ve finally packed up what’s going to your new home, the last thing you want to deal with is the stuff you’re leaving behind.

That’s where the Habitat for Humanity ReStore comes in! ReStore offers donation pickups for furniture, appliances, and more. You save time and hassle, and can feel good about your old couch going to a new home instead of a landfill. Plus, every donation to ReStore goes towards building homes, communities, and hope!

Assess Your Donation

Donations are resold to fund Habitat for Humanity’s mission to build affordable housing, so ReStore aims to curate quality inventory for our shoppers. This means we can only accept donations that are new or gently used and meet our donation criteria. ReStore cannot accept items that are damaged, not working, missing parts, or rusted. Check out our Donation Criteria page for a detailed list of what we can accept!

Due to our limited resources, if your donation can fit in your car, we ask that you drop it off at one of our three ReStore locations. If you have any questions about your donation, just give us a call at (510) 803-3343 or shoot us an email with photos of your donation to ReStore@HabitatEBSV.org!

ReStore Donation Pick Up Driver

Request a Pickup

ReStore drivers will pick up donations in Alameda, Contra Costa, and Santa Clara counties. To get started, request a pickup by phone at (510) 803-3343, or fill out our pickup request form online! Here’s what you need to know to request a pickup:

  1. Plan in Advance. Generous donors keep our ReStore drivers busy, so there can be up to a 3 – 7 day waiting period for your pickup. If that doesn’t work with your move-out date, consider dropping off your donation at your closest ReStore or opting for our Priority Pickup Service!
  2. Take Photos of Your Donation. To ensure that your donation meets our criteria, we ask for photos in our online pickup request form. Our drivers will also review your donation at pickup to confirm acceptability, and having clear photos ahead of time streamlines your pickup!
  3. Move Your Donation to Ground Level. Our drivers are unable to enter your home, so please place your donation in your garage, driveway, or curbside where it will be easily accessible by our trucks!

For pickups from inside your home, disassembly services, or more flexible scheduling options, please check out our Priority Pickup Service!

That’s all it takes to offload your old furniture and give it a second life! If you’re feeling extra generous, you can choose to make a monetary donation to help Habitat for Humanity create more housing opportunity through building, preservation, and education.

Moving is always stressful, but you can cross one more thing off your to do list by scheduling a pickup with ReStore! Every piece of furniture or appliance you leave behind in your move will go on to help fund affordable homes for local families. Don’t wait and schedule your donation pickup today!
