Mattress Recycling
The Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley ReStores are teaming up with The Mattress Recycling Council’s Bye Bye Mattress Program to establish a permanent mattress drop-off location at the Habitat ReStore in Oakland.
Foam, steel, wood, cotton and other fibers from old mattresses can be recycled and turned into everyday products such as appliances, carpet padding, mulch and more. Up to 80% of an old mattress can be recycled.
Ribbon Cutting Event
To celebrate this partnership, the two organizations will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony at ReStore Oakland on Thursday, April 25 at 10 a.m.
