“This became a credo of mine…attempt the impossible in order to improve your work.” ― Bette Davis

Hello fellow treasure hunters! I could not be more pleased to introduce myself as Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley’s new ReStore Marketing Specialist. What a thrill it is to be a part of the Habitat family where, with your help, we can build home and community with such love and care.

I come to you by way of North Carolina-Michigan-California-Nevada-California where I have enjoyed a varied career in marketing, communications, political campaigns, volunteer management, retail, and collaborative music. I’m not afraid to shake things up, even when it isn’t easy. Open a new store? Knock 150 doors a day for an underdog candidate? Crisis communications with seemingly my bare hands? Sign me up! Through my varied experiences, especially most recently at Catholic Charities, the impact of California’s housing crisis became something for which I wanted to be a part of the solution. That is what drew me to Habitat for Humanity.

Of the organizations I have served so far, no group has offered such tangible ways to get involved as Habitat. The housing crisis can feel impossibly daunting. Thankfully, through building, advocacy, and housing counseling opportunities, Habitat makes it possible to meet this moment and make the dream of home possible. ReStore makes it even easier. What could be better than shopping to bring positive change to our community?

When I’m not at Habitat, you can find me playing the resplendent Austin organ at St. Cecilia Catholic Church – San Francisco (listen here). It brings me joy to inspire a congregation’s faith through music, especially in a glorious space like St. Cecilia. And when that occasional moment of relaxation comes my way, I can be found with my three cats at home in El Cerrito watching a great film, cooking, or, you guessed it, shopping at ReStore, anxiously trying to decide what to leave behind or throw in my truck.

Don’t be shy if you see me! I hope you will come chat with me while you are in the store…and help me spread the word of Habitat for Humanity!
